Our client is looking for a System Support Engineer (Video) to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will perform functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, and implementation of applications programs in support of Video Systems and Local Office. Analyzes installs, acquires, modifies, and supports operating systems, databases, utilities’ software, and software related to the video systems. In addition, plans to conduct and direct the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems.
Higher job levels may contribute to developing, testing, evaluating, or designing system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the Video Systems and Local Office and mentoring junior engineers.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Works independently and is the primary contact with development and IT services.
Ø Consults with management and staff regarding development, testing, and installation problems or malfunctions and recommends solutions
Ø Assists in the evaluation of business problems evaluates and recommends solutions
Ø Responds where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing an issue
Ø Provides recommendations regarding hardware and systems software.
Ø Ensures data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
Ø Ensures accuracy and availability of data.
Ø Recommends continuous improvements to the video systems.
Ø Understands the relationships of Corporation software products and provides operational support.
Ø Monitors Corporation software daily for anomalies.
Ø Assists testing efforts by assuring system and data integrity before production implementations.
Ø Maintains testing environment with up-to-date production database data as needed.
Ø Provides after-hours support as required
Ø Provide third-tier client support as escalated from Helpdesk or IT Technicians
Ø Ensure that all requirements of an SSAE18 audit are maintained and followed.
Ø Flexible work schedule
o Fieldwork and travel as required for the support of a gaming venue
o Available 24×7 for on-call duties as required
QA Specific Responsibilities
Ø Organizes designs, plans, directs, and assists in all the activities required for the test effort
Ø Develops test plans and supporting test documentation
Ø Directs and assists with test case execution, verifying the video system software performs as required
Ø Secures organizes and maintains test environments
Ø Assist in coordinating, preparing, and presenting video system software to the client
Ø Participates in meetings for both the project and client
Ø Applies principles and techniques to evaluate systems during development
Ø Records, reports, and tracks defect to accurately depict the status of the system
System Administration Specific Responsibilities
Ø Organizes design plans direct and assists in all the activities required for maintenance support.
Ø Directs and assists with the maintenance and administration of the video systems’ servers
Ø Assists with installing, configuring, and maintaining the operating system environment.
Ø Performs system software upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, including planning/scheduling, testing, and coordination.
Ø Schedules and performs necessary hardware installations and upgrades to video systems’ servers.
Ø Utilizes ticketing software for planned and unplanned outages and system maintenance.
Ø Assist with workstation and server administration setups.
Ø Maintains operational continuity.
Ø Monitors and tunes the video systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Ø Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
Ø Understanding of database backup/recovery procedures and developing backup scripts.
Ø Analyzes database performance statistics and performs required tuning activities to optimize database performance.
Ø Performs necessary database maintenance
Ø Recommends continuous improvements in database administration.
Ø Utilizes third-party applications to perform database and software trend analysis.
Ø Writes scripts and queries and maintains operational menu items to assist operations in acquiring system information and database records.
Ø Conducts routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Ø Experience with shell scripting Linux – programming background language. 90 % Linux servers and only 2 windows servers as well as VM Ware Virtualized servers experience.

A four-year college degree in a technical field, preferably computer science.
4-7 years of experience in technical disciplines with hands-on experience.
Essential special training requirements
Strong understanding of the development cycle
Strong Linux operating system experience
Working knowledge of DB2 and SQL queries
Must pass a company initiated criminal history background check
Must pass an FBI a background check for obtaining a Gaming License
